Gran Canaria Desktop Summit
Collabora often brings more than half the company to GUADEC, the yearly GNOME conference. In 2009, GUADEC combined with the KDE conference Akademy to bring together desktop developers for both systems in Gran Canaria. More than thirty Collaborans attended, and several gave talks.

- "Let's make GNOME a collaborative desktop" by Guillaume Desmottes, a talk about how to use Tubes and Telepathy to make GNOME a more collaborative desktop. Schedule item, slides as PDF.
- "Pitivi Video Editor" by Edward Hervey, a talk and short demo on the great strides forward we are making with PiTiVi. Schedule item, slides as PDF.
- "How to play libnice-ly with your NAT," a talk about our firewall punching library libnice, by Youness El Alaoui. Slides as PDF.

We also held a party on the roof of a Las Palmas country club. Hundreds of attendees from the KDE and GNOME communities enjoyed music, an open bar, great weather, and conversation. Several even got free Collabora shirts!
